Boca Bites · Why This Comic
We won them back from Terra Frisbee. So why aren't they in the plan?

After a prolonged legal and civic battle, the City of Boca Raton won back 8 acres of land adjacent to Memorial Park from developer Terra Frisbee. This was a significant victory for residents who had fought to preserve public green space in the heart of downtown.
Those 8 acres represent a rare opportunity — a chance to add meaningful public space, parks, or community infrastructure in an area that is rapidly being developed. The community celebrated. The city celebrated. And then... nothing.
The City is currently developing a Downtown Civic Plan — a major planning document that will shape downtown Boca Raton for decades. It covers land use, development density, public spaces, and infrastructure.
But the 8 acres won back from Terra Frisbee are not included in the planning process.
No public discussion. No community input sessions. No explanation from city officials about why land the public fought for — and won — is being left out of the city's most important planning document.
Local government issues can be dense, technical, and easy to ignore. We believe that when something important is happening in our community, it deserves to be communicated in a way that reaches everyone — not just those who read planning documents.
Boca Bites is our way of cutting through the noise. Each comic is grounded in documented facts and public records. The art is sharp. The questions are real. And the issues are ones that affect every resident of Boca Raton.
